There is no waste when it comes to our candles. Any damages, defects or excess candles are melted and poured again into molds and containers. Any dirty wax that may fall on the floor is gathered and sold to companies that repurpose it for their needs. For example, we have a shoe polish company that purchases all dirty, unusable wax. Another company used the wax for their equipment.

Many of the hotels will return the melted, unusable candles. We issue credit for each kilo returned. We take this wax, filter it and use it for the very dark colors such as black and navy.

We hope to continue being as sustainable as possible and to continue with sustainable materials.

Our employees are paid well above the minimum wage and those on salary are compensated very well. Their medical bills are paid by the company and we provide transportation to and from work. Most factory workers in Egypt have 1 day off, whereas we give them 2 days off.

Our production wastewater is discharged after being treated to meet standards, which means that we have no wastewater pollution and no pollution to the environment. Our production waste gas is also collected and processed. We have a special waste treatment system to turn the waste into clean air and discharge it without causing environmental pollution. We also use LED lights to save energy. Our raw material barrels will also be cleaned and disinfected for secondary use. The waste cartons generated in our production will also be used for secondary use within the company. The cooling water used in our production process is also recycled. The fixed material of glass bottles has also been changed from Styrofoam to cardboard.

We aim to reach a total 30% reduction in electricity usage by next July. By the end of next year, we will be able to recycle the cold air produced by the GMP plant and reuse it in the office area in summer. And also we will be able to do the thermal energy recovery and reuse in GMP plant.
